Let me start by saying Dear Melanated Folx is for everyone. However, keep in mind although it's for everyone, I am a 50+ Black GenXer. So, you might hear or read some things that might make you feel uncomfortable. Sorry?

I enjoy writing about my lived experiences sprinkled with tangents topped with humor to make the things I don't want to cry about easier to deal with. Yes, I am incredibly talented at stuffing my emotions all the way down and then waiting until my husband forgets to buy me a root beer when he stops at 7 -11 on his way home. Did he ask me if I wanted something? Yes. Did I reply, "Never mind, I'm fine? Also, yes. Did I get mad when he came home without anything for me? Yes. Did I want him to do something so completely out of his personality that he's never ever thought about doing or done after 17 years of marriage? Yes. Was I hurt and offended? Yes.
